Business Directory Bylaws 

Article I: Purpose 

The Church Business Directory exists to: 

  •  Promote fellowship and economic support among church members. 

  • Provide a trusted platform for businesses operated by members in good standing. 

  • Encourage ethical, faith-aligned entrepreneurship. 

Article II: Eligibility 

1. Membership Requirements 

  • Active Church Membership: Applicant must be an active and regularly attending member of the church or a ministry connected to it. 

  • Business Ownership or Leadership Role: The individual enrolling must be the business owner or hold a significant decision-making role in the company. 

  • Must be an active and regularly attending member of the church. 

  •  Must own or operate a business or provide a freelance service. 

  • Must agree to uphold the values and mission of the church. 

  • Commitment to Community Support: Encouraged to support other businesses within the directory and uphold the spirit of fellowship. 

 

2. Application Process 

 Submit a completed directory application form: Submission of an official business directory application with accurate and complete information. 

Fee Payment: The application fee must be paid during enrollment. 

Pastoral or Leadership Approval: a brief review or approval from a pastor or church leadership to confirm the member is in good standing.  

Willingness to Maintain Updated Information: Member agrees to keep their listing current and respond to directory communications when needed. 

  • Proof of Valid Business License/ TIN: All businesses must be a legal entity 

  • Receive approval from the Directory Committee or church leadership. 

Agreement to Directory Terms & Code of Conduct: Applicant must sign or agree to the church’s terms, including: 

  • Adherence to Christian ethics 

  • Use of honest and respectful business practices 

  • Respecting privacy and non-solicitation rules 

Article III: Code of Conduct 

All directory members shall: 

  • Conduct their business with honesty, integrity, and professionalism. 

  •  Avoid misrepresentation or deceptive advertising. 

  •  Respect the privacy and preferences of church members (no unsolicited marketing). 

  •  Refrain from promoting products or services that conflict with Christian values. 

  •  Promptly address any customer concerns or complaints. 

Article IV: Directory Administration 

1. Oversight Committee 

  • The directory shall be managed by a committee or appointed administrator(s). 

  • The committee shall review applications, monitor compliance, and manage updates. 

2. Review & Updates 

  • Directory entries must be reviewed annually to ensure accuracy and continued eligibility. 

  • Members may be contacted to update their listing. 

Article V: Termination & Suspension 

1. Grounds for Removal 

  • Violation of Church Values: Operating or promoting services that conflict with the church’s beliefs, mission, or moral standards. 

  • Dishonest or Unethical Business Practices: Reports of fraud, false advertising, exploitation, or unethical conduct. 

  • Consistent Negative Reviews or Complaints: Repeated customer complaints from other members, especially if unresolved or serious in nature. 

  • Failure to Maintain Active Membership: Business owners are no longer an active or attending member of the church for greater than 6 months.  

  • Inappropriate or Offensive Content: Listing includes inappropriate language, images, or links that do not reflect the church's values. 

  • Failure to Update Business Information: Providing outdated, inaccurate, or misleading information and failing to correct it when notified. 

  • Solicitation or Spam: Aggressive marketing, unsolicited mass communication to members, or misuse of contact information. 

  • Non-Compliance with Directory Policies: Violation of the terms and conditions, such as attempting to bypass approval processes or misuse of reviews. 

  • Criminal Activity or Legal Issues: Business involved in illegal operations or under investigation that could damage the church’s reputation. 

  • Refusal to Cooperate with Administration: Failure to respond to inquiries or comply with reasonable requests from the directory administrators. 

  • Failure to comply with eligibility or conduct guidelines. 

  •  Multiple unresolved complaints. 

  • Promotion of content or practices inconsistent with church values. 

2. Process 

  1. The member will be notified of the concern and given an opportunity to respond. 

  2. The directory committee or pastoral staff will make the final determination. 

Article VI: Fees and Promotions 

1. Fees 

  1.  Basic listings fee will be $100.00 for all for-profit businesses and the fee is waived for proved non-profit organizations. 

  2. Featured or sponsored listings may incur an additional fee, used to support church programs.

2. Promotions 

  1.  The directory may highlight selected businesses through church website, social media, or events.   

Article VII: Amendments 

These bylaws may be amended by the Directory Committee in consultation with church leadership. Any changes will be communicated to all directory members in writing.
